Hey there! I’m so glad you found your way here. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel like deciding to clean out your junk drawer – a little overwhelming but, trust me, totally worth it. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – those are just fancy ways of saying I’m here to help you learn practical skills for managing life’s challenges, find motivation even when you’re feeling stuck, and reframe those unhelpful thoughts that keep you up at night.

First session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and free to be yourself. We’ll spend time gathering information about what brings you to therapy, your experiences, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from the process. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and exploring what you would like to see change. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or share more than you’re ready for—the first session is about meeting you where you are and beginning to build a path forward together.

Strengths

I bring a balance of honesty, empathy, and genuine support to my sessions. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard and understood, but also challenged when needed. My approach is direct and transparent while remaining compassionate and nonjudgmental. I’ll help you recognize patterns, build on your strengths, and work through the things that may be keeping you stuck. Most importantly, I want you to leave therapy feeling empowered—with greater confidence in yourself and practical tools to create meaningful, lasting change in your life.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the person they want to be, but is ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or patterns that no longer serve you. You don't need to have everything figured out or even know exactly where to start. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection and willing to be challenged with compassion. Together, we'll work toward breaking unhealthy patterns, building practical coping skills, strengthening your sense of self, and creating a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and authentic.

Treatment methods

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach by helping clients recognize that they are more than the challenges that brought them to therapy. Together, we identify the strengths, resilience, skills, values, and resources you already possess and explore how you can build upon them to create meaningful change. Rather than focusing only on what feels “wrong,” I help you recognize what is already working and where you have successfully navigated challenges in the past. My role is to help you develop greater confidence in yourself, strengthen the tools you already have, and build new skills so you feel increasingly empowered to navigate life beyond the therapy room.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify thought patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to distress or keeping you feeling stuck and work to develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding. I also incorporate practical strategies that you can use outside of sessions to manage difficult emotions, change unhelpful patterns, and approach challenges differently. The goal is not simply to change how you think, but to help you develop greater self-awareness and feel more confident in your ability to navigate life's challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand and manage intense emotions while developing practical skills for navigating everyday challenges. Together, we may focus on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I balance acceptance with change—helping you validate and understand where you are while also identifying patterns that may no longer be serving you. My goal is to provide practical tools you can use outside of therapy to communicate more effectively, strengthen relationships, cope with difficult emotions, and respond to challenges in healthier, more intentional ways.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for wanting change while honoring their autonomy and recognizing that meaningful change cannot be forced. Together, we explore where you may feel stuck, uncertain, or conflicted and identify what truly matters to you. Rather than telling you what you “should” do, I help you uncover your own motivation, recognize barriers, and build confidence in your ability to move forward. This approach allows us to turn insight into meaningful, realistic steps toward the changes you want to make.
