New to Grow
I’m a compassionate counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. I work with clients who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps, and I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore those experiences. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, helping you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, relaxed environment where we’ll focus on getting to know you and what brings you to counseling. I’ll ask some questions about your background, current concerns, and goals, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. We’ll also talk about what you hope to gain from our work together and begin identifying ways I can support you. Most importantly, this session is about helping you feel heard, understood, and comfortable moving forward.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my focus on creating a genuine, trusting relationship while also providing practical, results-oriented support. I take a strengths-based and collaborative approach. Rather than just talking through challenges, I help clients build real-life coping skills, increase self-awareness, and make meaningful changes they can carry beyond our sessions.
My ideal counseling client is someone who is ready to engage in the process of self-exploration and growth, even if they feel uncertain or overwhelmed. They may be navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or a desire for greater balance and meaning. They are open to reflection, willing to build insight, and motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives. I support them by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space while offering practical tools and guidance to help them build resilience and move toward their goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand that while thoughts and feelings are important, they are not always true. In working with me, clients will learn ways to challenge, reframe, and diffuse irrational thoughts.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior therapy to teach clients ways to be more mindful, better understand and regulate their emotions, and more effectively communicate their wants and needs. Clients will learn mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
Grief Therapy
I support clients navigating the difficult grief process, due to loss of any kind. Clients will learn facts about grief, explore how that unique process looks for them, and learn effective ways to cope.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In addition to providing clinical mental health support, I am also a certified mindfulness meditation teacher. I show clients how to incorporate mindfulness meditation into their regular mental health self-care.
Trauma Informed Care
I am trained to provide a maximum six-session rapid relief intervention via the Acute Stress Syndrome (ASSYST) method. Clients experiencing trauma-related symptoms such as intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, and other physiological symptoms can find relief and be referred to more intensive interventions, such as EMDR, as needed.
