Erika Kosterlitzky

LMFT (she/her)9 years of experience

I love doing this work! I consider it a great privilege to walk alongside my clients, to partner with them, support them in their journey, and witness their growth. I do a lot of grief work, but am seeing clients with a wide array of issues and concerns. I am EMDR trained and am incorporating a lot of Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my practice. My intention is to meet you where you're at, to support you in your therapeutic goals.

First session

My intention is that clients will leave our sessions knowing they've got someone in their corner who genuinely cares about them. I want to help them realize their strengths while also accessing new tools to support the season they're in now.

Strengths

I want everyone to have access to mental health services. I know it's a big deal to just start looking for a therapist, so when we meet I want you to feel safe and seen and validated. I have a calm presence and am ready to meet you where you're at (figuratively speaking, since this is telehealth😉).

Ideal clients

I am excited to work with clients who are looking to make changes in their lives! I'm especially excited about the utilization of IFS/parts work, as I see it being life changing for my clients. It seems women are usually the ones who reach out, perhaps looking for someone who gets it when it comes to parenting, balancing all that life throws at us, issues of faith, cancer, grief, etc. But I also really enjoy the men who are ready to do this therapeutic work. If you are looking to feel supported, encouraged and less alone in this journey, I might be a really good fit for you.

Treatment methods

Grief Therapy

I have lived experience with child loss and will walk through the grief journey with others who are grieving any kind of loss. There are no quick fixes, but you definitely don't have to do it alone.

EMDR

This is a trauma treatment to help desensitize the traumatic event and then reprocess it in your brain. Trauma is not what happens to us, but how we process it.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

We all have many parts inside of us! And they are all trying to protect us from pain. But they may have very different ideas of how to do that and can cause a lot of internal conflict and, ironically, more pain. But when you get to know these parts and how to talk with them, it can be truly life changing!
