Hi, I'm Dr. Whithed. Are you finding it more difficult to weather these quickly changing times we find ourselves living in? Would you like to have more confidence in your own ability to successfully maintain a confident sense of peace and purpose, no matter what is happening around you? I can help. I am a licensed Psychologist with over 15 years experience helping men and women cope with a wide array of challenges including trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and more. I empower women and men to reconnect with their inner strengths and resources to overcome obstacles. I use a whole-body approach, integrating the physical body, the mind, and the spirit. We will work together to rediscover your inner strengths and use those strengths to overcome what is standing between you and your goals. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The most important thing I want you to take away from sessions with me is feeling heard and understood. And just as importantly, I want you to leave a session with hope - a renewed hope in your inner strength and ability to overcome whatever obstacles are leading you to seek assistance from me.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I have a person-centered, insight-oriented approach to therapy. In a nutshell, I am focused on you: understanding your point of view, the problems you are facing, and your unique strengths. It can be very difficult to see your way clearly when feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. I have a lot of information gained over years of education and professional (and personal) experience, but you are the expert on You. I want to understand you, and help you understand yourself more deeply.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over my years in practice I have learned that it is not about how much I know, or what skills I may have, but how well I listen. I believe that simple skill - listening - is the heart and soul of therapy. I have been privileged to help many women and men overcome problems that have been overwhelming, problems including grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or the loss of a job/livelihood. I have also been very successful in helping clients cope with past traumas that are continuing to affect relationships today.
