Alisha Griswold
Great to meet you! I'm Alisha! I have received my master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling through Baypath University and currently have my LMHC and LPC license in MA and CT. I have worked in community mental health for the past three years with teens and adults, providing counseling services utilizing evidenced based approaches including, CBT, SFBT, and person-centered therapeutic approaches. I am currently pursuing EMDR certification.
First session
During your first session, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we will get to know one another and begin discussing what brought you to therapy. We will explore your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. There is no pressure to share everything at once. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported while developing a plan that meets your unique needs.
Strengths
My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to build genuine connections, listen without judgment, and create a safe space where clients feel heard and supported. I take a strengths-based approach, helping individuals recognize their resilience and build practical skills to manage life's challenges. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, and I strive to meet clients where they are while helping them move toward meaningful growth and change.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is seeking support, growth, or change, regardless of where they are in their journey. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, or difficulties managing emotions. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to exploring their experiences, building on their strengths, and developing practical skills to improve their overall well-being.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build skills to manage life's challenges. Through CBT, clients gain practical tools to improve emotional well-being, increase resilience, and create lasting positive change.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented, strengths-based approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems. In therapy, I help clients identify their existing strengths, explore what is already working in their lives, and develop practical steps toward their goals. By emphasizing progress, resilience, and achievable change, SFBT empowers clients to build confidence and create meaningful improvements in their daily lives.
