I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While experienced in various areas I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety, depression, anger and relationship issues. I have training in trauma and attachment, play therapy, art therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and provide counseling to children adolescents, and adults. I am a military spouse and come from a large Afro-Caribbean family.
My clients can expect a warm, supportive and therapeutic environment that is diverse and welcoming. Guidance is given to assist in creating goals while building on personal strengths and resources to overcome and meet life’s challenges.
My integrative approaches are tailored to fit the need of each individual. I often draw from cognitive behavioral techniques used for overcoming negative thought patterns as well as dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and the use of psychodynamics referencing how the past influences the present.
I have vast experience working with issues of and anxiety and depression and helping individuals increase their motivation, willingness and desires to improve their over all well-being. I often work closely with couples to help them gain the communication skills and conflict resolution techniques needed to build and maintain healthier and stronger relationships.
