Hi, I'm Shoshana, a licensed therapist who is passionate about helping adults, couples, children, adolescents, parents, and families navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and connection. Using a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach, I help clients gain insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building the skills and resilience needed for meaningful growth. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives and relationships.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first sessions, my goal is to understand your story and learn about the strengths that have helped you through difficult experiences. We move at a pace that feels safe and respectful. You do not have to tell everything at once. Therapy is a process of building trust, understanding patterns, and discovering new possibilities for growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

For nearly 20 years, I have worked as a psychotherapist supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families in schools, healthcare settings, and private practice. I was also an adjunct professor teaching Family Systems Therapy and Child and Adolescent Development to graduate students preparing to become therapists. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity. I help clients explore the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that contribute to anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and relationship difficulties. Together, we work to develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper understanding of what drives reactions and behaviors.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients of all ages who are looking for support, healing, and growth. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, behavioral difficulties, or major life changes, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I believe that every person and family is unique, so I draw from different therapeutic approaches to meet your specific needs and goals. Together, we can build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and work toward lasting positive change.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Most of us grow up thinking our mind is just one single voice. But have you ever noticed how you can feel two opposite things at once? Like, 'Part of me really wants to go to that social event, but another part of me just wants to stay home on the couch.'In IFS, we look at the mind as a sort of inner family or community. We have different 'parts' of us, and each part has its own thoughts, feelings, and job to do. Some parts act like Managers—they keep us organized, on time, or maybe they criticize us to keep us from making mistakes. Other parts act like Firefighters—when we feel overwhelmed, they jump in to put out the emotional fire, maybe by binge-watching a show, overeating, or shutting down.Underneath all those parts is the real you—what we call the Self. The Self is naturally calm, curious, and compassionate. Our goal in therapy isn't to get rid of any parts, because there are no bad parts. Even the frustrating ones are just trying to protect you. Instead, we want to help your Self get to know these parts, understand what they need, and help them work together more harmoniously.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is a therapy for young children (birth to age 5) and their parent or primary caregiver. It is designed to help families when a child has experienced stressful or traumatic events, or when there are concerns about the child's emotions, behavior, development, or relationship with their caregiver. In CPP, the child and caregiver attend sessions together. Through play, conversation, and shared activities, families will better understand their child's feelings and behaviors, improve communication, and build healthy ways of responding to challenges. The therapist also helps caregivers recognize how life stressors—such as family changes, cultural experiences, financial pressures, or other challenges—may be affecting the child and family relationships

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps people heal from distressing or traumatic experiences that may continue to affect their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Sometimes, difficult experiences can become "stuck" in the brain, making it hard to move past them. EMDR helps the brain process these memories in a healthier way so they become less overwhelming and disruptive. EMDR can help with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, phobias, and other challenges. The goal is to help individuals feel less distressed by past experiences, develop healthier beliefs about themselves, and improve their overall emotional well-being.

Eclectic

Eclectic Therapy is a flexible approach to counseling that combines techniques and strategies from different evidence-based therapy models to best meet each client's unique needs. Rather than using a single therapeutic approach for everyone, therapy is tailored to the individual's goals, strengths, challenges, and personal experiences. As an eclectic therapist I may draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed therapies, mindfulness-based interventions, and other therapeutic methods. The specific techniques used will depend on what is most helpful for you at a particular point in your healing and growth process. This approach allows therapy to adapt as needs change over time, helping you develop insight, build coping skills, improve relationships, process difficult experiences, and achieve meaningful goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, goal-oriented form of therapy that helps people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is based on the idea that the way we think about situations can affect how we feel and how we respond to them. In CBT, you will with me (therapist) to identify unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, or behaviors that may be contributing to emotional distress or life challenges. Together, you'll learn new skills and strategies to challenge negative thinking, manage difficult emotions, and respond to situations in healthier and more effective ways. CBT can help with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and behavioral challenges. Sessions often include practicing coping skills and applying what you learn in therapy to everyday situations.
