Donna Smith
Hi, I’m Donna—a licensed therapist passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. I am passionate about promoting health and emotional well-being. I believe in the power of self-care, mindfulness and self-compassion in leading a fulfilling life. I strive to create a warm and empathetic therapeutic relationship with my clients, where they feel supported on their journey toward personal growth, healing and self dis-discovery.
First session
In our first session, will take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to understand what brings you to therapy, what challenges you’re facing, and what goals you’d like to work toward. You’ll also have space to share your story at your own pace and there is no pressure to have everything figured out. I’ll explain how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) works and how we’ll use it to explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we will begin identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck and construct a plan for moving forward. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what therapy with me looks like and how we will collaborate to help you feel more empowered and in control.
Strengths
My therapeutic style is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but it’s anything but rigid. I combine evidence-based techniques with a warm, intuitive presence that helps clients feel safe enough to explore—and bold enough to change. I don’t just help people understand their patterns; I guide them in actively reshaping them. What makes my approach unique is how I tailor each session to the individual. I draw from years of experience working with diverse populations, and I know that healing isn’t linear. I meet clients where they are, offering structure when they feel lost, and flexibility when they need space. My methods are collaborative, goal-oriented, and infused with compassion. The client's ability to reduce their anxiety, improve their mood, create stronger relationships and a renewed sense of self-worth. "I meet people where they are, but I don't leave them there."
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are ready to challenge the thoughts that hold them back. My ideal clients are motivated to understand the connection between their beliefs, emotions, and behaviors—even if they’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, but they share a common goal: you want practical tools and insight to feel more in control of your life.
