I am a LICSW and C-DBT and have been working with children, adolescents, families, and adults for over fifteen years. I received my BA summa cum laude with high honors in Psychology from Clark University and subsequently my MSW from Boston College. I have experience working in community based settings, outpatient clinics, schools, crisis situations, and individuals in state hospital level of care. I believe in the work I do and keeping individuals and families safe within their own communities.
Collaborative therapeutic relationships are the essence of providing the environment for you to feel comfortable and make the progress you and/or your loved ones deserve. I strive to make goals into realities through sessions which may evoke strong emotions while also building on your confidence and strengths.
I believe in making therapy a valuable and productive experience. I have worked with many individuals and families who may not felt therapy has been beneficial and have been able to engage and develop rapport to make therapy the most positive as possible with all involved. I am creative, solution-focused, and empowering.
I have worked with a range of individuals and situations from young children demonstrating behavioral issues which are often rooted in underlying depression and/or anxiety, to adolescents and young adults struggling with self-injuring and self-harming thoughts as a coping mechanism, to adults with various mental health such as unresolved trauma. I have worked with individuals and families and additionally provide consultation as given my background working for the Department of Mental Health and community care coordination. I have extensive knowledge and experience with state systems, educational systems, child welfare, and higher levels of care including inpatient hospitals and statewide programs.
I utilize a blend of DBT, CBT, art and play therapy, narrative therapy and motivational interviewing. My main focus when meeting clients is developing rapport and learning your strengths and hopes to best move forward in this recovery journey together.
