New to Grow
My goal as an international psychologist and clinical social worker is to create safe and empowering spaces for clients by providing culturally intelligent and evidenced-based modalities to a diverse- client population who experience mental health and systemic- issues that may seem universal but are experienced in unique ways. I look forward to working with you to unravel your strengths on this journey to total wellness and freedom to be your purposeful and authentic SELF.
Your first session with me as a Clinician will cover the following key elements- for you to be heard, feel safe and what you hope to uncover about yourself.
It has been a privilege to work with diverse clients who have invited me to collaboratively work with them using their preferred cultural milieu and evidence-based modalities to navigate experiences of life transitions, mental health concerns, changing roles, and dealing with systemic issues that impact well-being!
I have extensive experience in working with individuals navigating mental health/mood disorders/suicidal ideation related to domestic violence, sexual trauma, gender-based violence, grief and loss across the life span. I work with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, complete physical and psychological safety planning and to develop healthier coping skills to help achieve their desired life outcomes in all aspects of their lives.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I work with clients to understand the continuous evolving nature of daily experiences. Thus, using ACT as a clinical lens helps clients to understand the thoughts and feelings which contradicts their values and thereby helping clients to develop cognitive flexibility to gain insight and self-compassion towards self.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused CBT is one of my preferred modalities which I find to effectively help clients to process complex traumatic experiences. TF-CBT is instrumental in clients to foster an understanding of "what happened to them" in order to garner their existing strengths to overcome these experiences to recover and heal.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based therapy is helpful in my clinical practice because it gives me the opportunity to help clients focus on everyday practices, they can utilize to manage difficult emotions as they "appear". The goal is to help clients develop curiosity around that they are feeling and thinking and utilizing mindful exercises- breath work, movement and grounding techniques to interrupt distressing feelings and thoughts.
