My name is (Robert MacInnes and I'm located in the state of Minnesota with (# 14) years of clinical experience. I received my doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and graduated in 2022, and earned a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 2013. I'm an LPCC, a licensed professional clinical counselor) and have experience working with (adults of all ages. I have a specific interests in (anger management, trauma, depression, anxiety, adult ADHD, relational issues.
First session
While the first session is typically getting to know the client, I try to build to an insight or coping skill that brings some hope and relief.
Strengths
My personal therapeutic style is supportive, personable, aimed to promote insight and motivation. My passion for therapy comes from a deep curiosity about the human condition and a desire to break through stigmas.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is curious and psychologically minded, and may be going through phase of life issues. One thing that is always be helpful is keeping a little notebook or journal somewhere, maybe on their phone, where they can add important issues or topics that occur to them between sessions to explore. I guess youn could say my ideal client is prepared for the session in that way.
