My name is Ranie Meyer, and I am a dual-board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Colleagues and patients alike describe me as intuitive, wise, and energetically compassionate. This reflects in my practice where I prioritize a holistic, patient-centered approach, embracing the unique challenges and strengths of each individual. My work is not just about managing symptoms but fostering a partnership that enhances your overall well-being.
In our first session, I will listen carefully to your story with compassionate, nonjudgmental care. We will discuss what led you to seek treatment and what your goals are. Together, we will formulate a plan to help you move towards your goals and mental wellness.
My treatment approach combines over 14 years of healthcare experience across diverse settings—from emergency rooms to intensive care units to small practices. My personal journey into mental health was not a straightforward path. The early loss of my father, a significant car accident, and navigating life changes have all deeply influenced my empathy and understanding. These experiences fostered my intuitive connection with patients facing their own struggles, guiding me into a career that blends scientific rigor with heartfelt care.
I provide specialized care for individuals—from children and teens to adults—struggling with issues like anxiety, depression, attention/focus challenges, and trauma. By focusing on the root causes of symptoms, I tailor treatments to meet your unique needs. My aim is to not only alleviate symptoms, but also to equip you with lasting strategies for a happy and fulfilling life.
In my practice, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We'll discuss what led you to seek therapy and determine best strategies to help you move forward. CBT focuses on understanding how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviors. Throughout our sessions, I'll guide you in challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, which can lead to improved emotions and fulfillment.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is a hope friendly, positive emotion eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.
