(she/her)
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York and a licensed professional counselor in the state of Connecticut. I am a nationally certified counselor and a board certified telemental health provider. I am based in New York. I currently have my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I am a doctoral candidate with an expected graduation of Fall 2024. My private practice consists of women within the BIPOC community who have a history of sexual trauma. Majority of my clients are parents, single moms, young adults or married women trying to navigate their trauma while juggling the other parts of their life. I am confident in my ability to make clients comfortable to be vulnerable and work through their concerns with me.
In our first session, clients can expect for me to work on building a relationship with them. We will review intake forms, discuss presenting concerns and your expectations of me so that I can build a tailored-plan to best meet your needs as the client.
My greatest strengths include destigmatizing the practice of therapy, making my clients feel comfortable and allowing them to be in the driver seat of the process with my support.
I love working with women who are eager to really open up and do the work. I know receiving therapy can be a scary thing but I am hear to normalize this for you. I love working with clients that are invested in treatment, want to learn and see progress.
CBT is the main method I use to treat my clients as I help clients make connections between their beliefs, thoughts and behaviors to promote solutions and the development of healthy coping skills.
I use reality therapy for clients that want to focus on present concerns surrounding choices and actions.
I use solution-focused treatment as a goal-based treatment that focuses on client strengths to achieve change in their life.
I use trauma informed modalities to treat my clients that have trauma related to family and sexual assault. These methods vary and can include EMDR, IFS or TF-CBT methods.
