New to Grow
I have been working with adolescents, teens, and young adults for over 30 years. I enjoying hearing people's stories and finding ways that I can help. People that I tend to work with struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, and some struggle with symptoms indicative of attention difficulties. Their desire is to discover ways to cope with mood irregularities, strategies to manage anxious feelings, and methods they can use to complete tasks, empower self-motivation, and to get organized. As a therapist who is also a Social Worker, I tend to also offer suggestions for resources in the community.
After taking some time to build rapport with clients, I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (shortened CBT) to find ways to help clients think differently about their struggles to find solutions together in order for them to meet their goals. We can also take a look at your history to discover the roots of behavioral patterns.
My approach stands out because it isn't a cookie-cutter approach, meaning I want to hear from you first, struggles, concerns, feelings, etc. Then, based on what I hear from you we will get to work on what you want to improve. I will ask many questions and offer different perspectives to challenge your patterns of thinking and patterns of behavior.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is where we talk about your behaviors, challenge negative thought patterns, offer different perspectives, and empower clients to make improved decision quicker.
