About me

Hi! I'm Leann, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with a background in art therapy. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside expressive art interventions to help clients gain insight about their emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns. Together we can make sense of what's troubling you, and come up with a plan that will get you where you want to be.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

At our first session you can expect to discuss your concerns, and what you are looking to gain from therapy. Essentially, what brought you here today? Together we will identify therapeutic options and strategies that work for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe building a positive therapeutic relationship is the first step of good therapy. My goal as your therapist is to provide a comfortable and judgement-free space for you to express yourself. I understand that words are hard. That is why I often suggest the addition of art-based interventions. You do not have to be an artist to benefit from creating. Sometimes a scribble from a dried out marker feels more accurate than words. I am here to help make sense of those feelings that are difficult to articulate.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I especially enjoy working with the LGBTQ community, artists, and young adults. My clients are motivated, but may not have the tools or support they need (yet). Whether you're feeling constantly overwhelmed, doubting your choices, or replaying an embarrassing moment from years ago in your head, there is help. I am here to guide, collaborate, and gently challenge you when you're ready.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Utilizing CBT allows me to work with my clients through collaborative problem solving, introducing and practicing coping skills, becoming more mindful, and learning to reframe experiences and thoughts.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe all people have the ability to learn and grow when given appropriate support. Person-centered therapy focuses on the therapeutic relationship that gives clients the support they need through active authenticity, unconditional positive regard, and empathic understanding.
