Dr. Jessenia Perez-Carrion specializes in various areas including women's mental health (including postpartum), adolescents, parenting, trauma, depression, and anxiety. She adopts an integrative and person-centered approach when delivering care to her clients. Her utmost priority is to assist her clients in improving their well-being, whether that involves making positive changes, achieving personal growth, or healing from past traumas. With a collaborative approach, she works closely with her clients to find balance and overcome life's challenges together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, a biopsychosocial intake assessment will be completed. This includes collecting your background history and diving into the specific challenges you're facing. I will provide you with brief feedback and a brief introduction to the therapy model that will be used throughout our sessions. The information gathered will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My goal is to provide a safe space based on empathy, compassion, and honesty. My priority is to identify and treat the source of your challenges to face them together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients who are starting their journey with therapy toward a path of personal growth and healing.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I integrate the concept and techniques of ACT with other evidence-based models, such as CBT. ACT is focused on acceptance of feelings and commitment to values without the rejection of our feelings. It is focused on the "here and now."
