I work with individuals who have experienced trauma such as abuse, abandonment, grief/loss, PTSD, as well as those who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, and seeking to make major life transitions. I have extensive experience working with clients who have experienced homelessness and have been in the foster care system. With more than 25 years of experience, I will help you identify the root causes of issues, and to develop effective strategies to take charge and have the life you deserve. *I do have limited openings for weekly therapy which may not be reflected in my calendar. Please reach out to me directly at burgecounseling@gmail.com to check my availability.
In our first session together, we will work to understand the issues that you are facing and then develop a tailored plan toward achieving your personal goals.
We all go through challenging times and don't have to go through it alone! I am here to guide you and provide a safe, respectful and non-judgmental space for you to process and work through your experiences. There is a healthy, happier you just waiting to be unleashed. I am here to help you rediscover that person!
I work with young and older adults who are looking to make positives changes and who wish to learn tools and grow. My clients have the potential to live happy lives, but may feel stuck or anxious about how to get to a better place.
EMDR is one of the evidence-based therapeutic tools that I use in my practice to address and heal symptoms of emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
This approach to therapy takes into account body, mind and spirit to promote overall healing and wellness. I use an integrative approach considering all aspects of the human experience as equally important.
I use mindfulness practices that include present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises based on client need and interest. This therapy is helpful in addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD and panic disorders. Using these tools, the mindfulness-based therapist teaches a client to be in the here and now as well as break away from negative thought patterns.
My practice over many years has included clients who have experienced significant trauma including homelessness, living in foster care, abuse and neglect. I work with clients to address the root causes of their symptoms and to provide compassion, perspective and guidance toward healing.
