I received my master’s degree in social worker from the University of Central Florida in 2006. My experience has primarily been in the medical arena helping individuals and families transition through the complex medical system. I also help them navigate life changes in a positive, hands on approach. If you feel stuck due to a big life transition, struggle with self esteem, or need assistance managing anxiety I would love to help you navigate these transitions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with an introduction. I am big on developing a safe therapeutic relationship with my client's. This is where trust is developed and the primary foundation of the therapeutic relationship. I will have you tell me about yourself and what led you to therapy. This is done in a calm and relaxed manner to help decrease the anxiety that sometimes comes when starting therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked as a social worker for the past 20 years, I have learned the art of listening to others really well. I’m listening to others I am able to help them identify their problem, identify their strengths, and opportunities for growth. I work with my clients to develop goals and techniques and practical task to help them reach these goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults who feel stuck. Life may have placed them in a path or situation that they did not expect or anticipate being in and now they don’t know where to start or how to move forward. I enjoy helping this person identify and tap into their gifts and talents and use these things to make a plan of how to move forward while also building their self esteem and developing a positive self view

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I provide a motivational treatment approach with the clients that I work with. In this approach we address issues in a positive, hands on, approach while looking for the positive and how this can help facilitate change. I also approach negative thought patterns and processes and look for ways to shift the mindset surrounding these issues. This is done in a compassionate and honest way.
