New to Grow
With over 30 years of experience in mental health, I've supported children and adults through crisis intervention and beyond. I hold a Master's in Social Work and a dual substance use credential as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I've guided individuals through diverse challenges: depression, anxiety, relationship/marital issues, work stress, grief/loss, substance use, and family conflict. If depression feels overwhelming, relationships are straining you, or family pain weighs heavy—you don't have to face it alone. Therapy provides a compassionate space to unpack your experiences and find clarity together.
We'll discuss your current life circumstances and pinpoint where you'd like support. We'll conduct an initial assessment, set collaborative goals, and craft a personalized, evidence-based plan—drawing on tools like CBT or ERP—to build resilience and help you feel like yourself again.
My therapeutic approach stands out for its practical, evidence-based focus on rapid skill-building using tools like CBT and ERP, delivering measurable relief in 6-12 months for most clients. What Sets It Apart Active collaboration: We co-create homework and real-world experiments, 30–40% symptoms drops by session 6. Tailored intensity: ERP for OCD/anxiety gets precise exposure hierarchies; CBT targets relationship/thought patterns with custom worksheets. Holistic integration: I weave in wellness strategies (like anti-inflammatory habits) alongside therapy for sustained results. Proven Results Clients gain independence fast—many end avoidance cycles, or rebuild relationships—because we prioritize actionable change over endless insight. This efficient, results-driven style empowers you to thrive outside sessions.
I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating mental health challenges through evidence-based therapies like CBT and ERP. Ideal Client Concerns Clients dealing with anxiety disorders (OCD, phobias, generalized anxiety), depression, relationship communication issues, and stress management often find my approach most helpful. These might show up as intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, low mood, or difficulty with daily wellness habits like an anti-inflammatory lifestyle. Common Mindsets You're likely motivated for practical change, open to structured tools, and ready to actively practice skills between sessions. Many come feeling stuck in unhelpful thought patterns or avoidance, seeking empowerment to break free. Typical Therapy Goals Reduce anxiety/phobia symptoms through targeted ERP or CBT. Build balanced thinking and coping strategies for depression/stress. Improve relationships and communication. Achieve sustainable wellbeing with actionable plans.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In our sessions, we'll use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a practical approach backed by decades of research. It works by helping you notice automatic negative thoughts that might be exaggerating problems, then challenging you with more balanced evidence, and adaptive positive thinking. We'll also practice new behaviors, such as facing fears gradually or using relaxation techniques, so you build skills to manage anxiety, depression, or stress on your own between sessions.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
In our work together, we'll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a proven therapy especially effective for OCD, anxiety, and phobias. It works by slowly exposing you to the thoughts, situations, or sensations that trigger anxiety—like contamination fears or checking rituals—while learning to resist the usual compulsions or avoidance. Over time, this rewires your brain's fear response so the anxiety naturally decreases without safety behaviors, helping you regain control and live more freely.
