Greetings and welcome! I’m Dr. Elizabeth Brillon, DSW, LCSW, C-DBT, CCTP-II, and I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxieties and heal from trauma. Life doesn’t always go as planned, and sometimes it can feel like it’s all too much. Do you ever find yourself wondering why your connections with others don’t bring the peace and fulfillment you’re seeking? It can be hard to balance life’s challenges when you’re carrying the weight of unresolved emotions. I work closely with individuals to uncover how trauma manifests in their lives and to develop tailored strategies for managing its symptoms. Often, trauma is accompanied by anxiety and depression, making it harder to move forward. I partner with motivated clients who are ready to commit to their healing journey, using evidence-based tools that are customized to meet their unique needs. Feeling overwhelmed by the uncontrollable aspects of life can be isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone. You deserve a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported in your pursuit of healing and peace. Together, we’ll nurture both your mental and physical health, creating a holistic path toward wellness. Take the first step today and reach out to me at Elizabeth.Brillon@aribriassociates.com to schedule a 53-minute intake session. Let’s move forward together on your journey to healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Like all meaningful journeys, beginning therapy is a process that requires thoughtful consideration and care. With new ventures, especially ones that involve personal growth and healing, it’s important to start with a foundation of understanding, trust, and safety. In our first session together, we’ll take the time to get acquainted, establish a comfortable environment, and begin the essential work of setting the stage for your therapeutic journey. Building a Foundation of Trust and Understanding The first session is much more than an introduction—it’s the start of a partnership. I believe that therapy is most effective when there’s a strong connection between the therapist and client, so a significant part of this initial meeting will involve getting to know one another. You’ll have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy and discuss your goals, concerns, and expectations. At the same time, I’ll share more about my approach, philosophy, and how I structure the therapeutic process. This isn’t just a one-way conversation; it’s an open dialogue where you’re encouraged to ask questions, voice any apprehensions, and explore whether this feels like the right fit for you. It’s important that you feel comfortable and confident in the process, and our first session is designed to create that sense of security and mutual understanding. Establishing Guidelines and Setting Boundaries We’ll also discuss boundaries—both emotional and logistical—to ensure that you feel safe throughout the process. Boundaries are essential in creating a space where you can explore difficult emotions, past traumas, and present challenges without fear of judgment or discomfort. Our first session will lay the groundwork for a therapeutic relationship built on respect, trust, and clear communication. Crafting the Outline of Your Treatment Plan One of the key goals of the first session is to begin crafting an initial outline of what your treatment might look like. While we won’t dive deeply into specific interventions just yet, we’ll start by discussing your goals and identifying the areas you’d like to focus on in therapy. This is a collaborative process—your input is critical in shaping a treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to your needs, preferences, and life circumstances. In this session, I’ll gather important information about your background, history, and current struggles. We’ll explore the reasons you’ve come to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and what c

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a licensed clinician with over fifteen years of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations across a variety of settings. This breadth of experience has allowed me to hone my skills and develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals face, regardless of their background or circumstance. My journey as a clinician has been shaped by the diverse roles I've taken on, the populations I've served, and the wealth of knowledge I’ve gained from each encounter. One of my core strengths is my versatility. I have extensive experience working in palliative care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, and trauma-focused therapy, all of which have given me a well-rounded perspective on mental health and wellness. Each of these fields presents its own set of challenges, requiring not only clinical expertise but also empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individuals in varying emotional and physical states. My experience across these settings has taught me the importance of meeting clients where they are, both emotionally and mentally, and providing them with the tools they need to navigate their unique circumstances. What sets my work in trauma apart is my commitment to creating a space where survivors feel heard, validated, and empowered. Trauma can deeply impact every aspect of a person’s life, from their relationships to their sense of self-worth, and healing from trauma requires more than just addressing the symptoms—it demands a holistic approach that considers the individual's emotional, mental, and physical well-being. I am dedicated to helping clients reclaim their narrative and find strength in their healing journey, no matter how long or difficult that path may be. At the heart of my work as a clinician is my authenticity. I believe in being genuine, transparent, and open with my clients. Healing is a deeply personal and often vulnerable process, and I want my clients to know that they are not alone on this journey. I strive to create an environment where individuals feel safe to express their emotions, explore their thoughts, and confront their fears without judgment. My approach is client-centered, meaning that I prioritize the individual’s voice in the therapeutic process. I’m not here to dictate a path but to walk alongside my clients, providing guidance and support as they navigate their challenges. Being an authentic advocate means more than just offering support; it means

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Originating from my experience in school and community partnerships with families, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment approach that considers how an individual thinks as the reason for the way an individual behaves. Using this approach involves active listening on my part and honest talking on your part, as we examine how your environment and biology make up your thought processes, identify the healthy and unhealthy thought patterns, and select the most appropriate tools to mitigate the unhealthy processes for optimal wellbeing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a certified dialectical behavior therapist, I engage in this modality to treat anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD symptoms on an individual basis for a sustained period of educational and supportive partnership.

Strength-Based

I work with clients to develop an awareness of their strengths and how those strengths can best be framed and utilized as the basis to build upon protective factors to manage life's challenges.

Feminist

Through my practice and research in feminist theory, I utilize an empowering and supportive feminist perspective and approach to social stressors relative to the modern feminine life experience to guide healing through talk therapy and/or various other modalities and tools.
