I have past experience working as an educator in a special needs private high school for almost 15 years. My personal education journey includes a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling. I have lived in Georgia all my life. I have been happily married for 30 years and have raised 3 wonderful boys. I am a child of God and believer in Jesus Christ.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session with me is a get to know you session in which the client is warmly encouraged to share their immediate needs/issues as well as any goals the client wishes to work toward accomplishing. This session provides an opportunity for the client and therapist to go over the client's intake form.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic approach involves much personal experience with many of the symptoms that clients are having to deal with which promotes much empathy and understanding.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe that anyone can be renewed, restored, and revitalized in their mental health journey. I aim to set and create a nurturing environment in which the client feels safe, comfortable, and ready for positive change. I am very familiar working with ADHD and Autistic clients especially with anxiety and depression.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping people manage their problems by changing the way they think and behave.
