Everyone has a story. I am a person-centered licensed professional counselor who believes in collaborative work with the client. I provide individual and couples therapy. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help my clients reach their personal goals. I also utilize existential counseling and multicultural counseling. I am available online to all adult residents of TN.
In our first session we will build rapport and get to know one another. Everyone is different and I respect the pace of each client; some clients are ready to dive into the problems they are facing, while others may take their time to get adjusted to the process of therapy.
I offer individual and couples therapy. I am available to assist clients with low self-esteem, work-related concerns, anxiety/depression, relationship concerns, anger, and major life transitions. I have studied and taught meditation for 20 years and use this to help clients with stress & anxiety if/when requested.
I help a number of clients learn how to be in the present with intense emotions and learn how emotions can affect our body. Over time, we can learn what these intense emotions are trying to communicate to us and that we do not need to be afraid of them.
CBT is understanding how our thoughts affect our emotions and how these emotions influence our behavior. Learning to become self-aware and recognize our thoughts/triggers is the first step in understanding the power of overcoming our issues.
