I work with clients who struggle with relationship challenges, up and down moods, anxiety symptoms, depression, family issues, parenting challenges, grief and loss, and life stressors.
It is structured, goal-oriented, and typically short-term, with a focus on teaching clients practical skills to improve their mental health. CBT is based on the concept that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. The central idea is that by changing negative or distorted thought patterns (cognitive distortions), we can alter the emotional and behavioral responses that result from them.
