Hello, and welcome. My name is Ayanna Gellineau, and I’m a trauma-focused therapist committed to helping individuals reconnect with themselves in safe, meaningful ways. I work from the belief that healing is possible when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to make sense of our stories — at our own pace, in our own voice. I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected — and they’re often carrying unspoken pain from past experiences. My role is to hold space for your healing, offering a steady presence and a collaborative approach that centers your needs. I honor the courage it takes to begin this work and view therapy as a partnership rooted in trust, safety, and mutual respect. I use evidence-based, trauma-informed practices that may include mindfulness, somatic awareness, inner child work, and cognitive-behavioral techniques — always tailored to your unique story. My style is warm, curious, and affirming. I will meet you where you are and support you in moving forward with clarity and compassion. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and have experience working in community mental health and private practice settings. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, and I value the complexity of each client’s identity and lived experience. If you're looking for a therapist who listens deeply, honors your pace, and offers a space where all parts of you are welcome — you’re in the right place. Therapy is not about fixing you; it’s about helping you reconnect with the strength and wisdom that’s already within you. I look forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of safety and trust. I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns or questions you may have. We’ll move at your pace — there’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready. I’ll also explain how I work and what you can expect moving forward. This session is about creating a space that feels supportive, grounded, and centered on your needs from the very beginning.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a deeply safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I bring a calm, grounded presence to our work together, allowing us to move through even the most difficult emotions with care and intention. My trauma-informed, client-centered approach prioritizes your pace and your voice — honoring your lived experience while gently guiding you toward healing and self-trust. I integrate somatic work, mindfulness, and evidence-based practices in a way that feels personalized and adaptable. Clients often share that they feel more connected to themselves, more confident in setting boundaries, and more empowered in their relationships after working with me. I’m especially skilled in helping clients uncover the root of recurring patterns, process past wounds, and create meaningful change — not through pressure or quick fixes, but through presence, curiosity, and a strong therapeutic relationship.
As a trauma-focused therapist, I am best positioned to support individuals who are seeking healing, clarity, and reconnection with themselves. Many of the clients I work with are carrying heavy emotional loads — often quietly, sometimes for years — and are finally ready to give themselves permission to tend to their needs, name their pain, and begin to heal. Whether they are navigating the aftereffects of trauma, wrestling with anxiety or shame, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, my clients are often people who are yearning for something more: more ease, more peace, more self-trust, and more freedom. I work especially well with adults who are highly self-aware but struggle to translate that insight into lasting emotional change. These are people who may have spent years “doing the work” — reading books, listening to podcasts, journaling, even attending previous therapy — and still feel like something’s unresolved or missing. They often describe themselves as helpers, caretakers, or high-functioning individuals who are used to showing up for others but feel disconnected from their own needs. My clients are often deeply thoughtful, but they’ve grown tired of intellectualizing their pain and are ready to feel differently in their bodies, relationships, and daily lives. Many of my clients are survivors of trauma — whether acute, chronic, relational, or developmental. Some know exactly what happened and are seeking space to process. Others may not have a clear “event” to point to but feel the emotional residue of something that left them unsteady or unsafe. They may struggle with hypervigilance, emotional numbness, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or internalized shame. These patterns often show up in their relationships, work environments, or even their own inner dialogue — and my clients are looking to shift them in a way that feels gentle, empowering, and sustainable. I also work with clients navigating major life transitions — including career changes, relationship shifts, grief and loss, identity exploration, or spiritual realignment. These individuals often come to therapy not just because something is “wrong,” but because they want to better understand themselves and grow into a more aligned version of who they’re becoming. I love working with clients who are asking deep questions: Who am I now? What do I truly want? How do I listen to myself? Therapy becomes a space to explore those questions in a nonjudgmental, co
