I am licensed clinical social worker offering therapy services that are tailored to the individual needs of each client. I graduated from University of Tennessee in 2013 with a Masters of Science in Social Work. I am a proud Army Veteran, who served as a mental health provider to over 1500 soldiers in Kuwait. I have worked extensively in the Veteran and LGBTQ+ community. I am passionate about improving mental health. My approach to therapy is both caring and compassionate, focused on helping clients identify and address their personal goals.
In our first session together, we'll start with a brief introduction, then discuss the symptoms/concerns you are experiencing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work thgouth in follow-up session.
Having worked with a diverese population of people including indivudals in high-stressed environments, I have developed a skill set for quickly creating a plan to address the root cause of the symptoms you are experiencing. I also have a wide variety of therapy skills that allow me to customize the plan to the clients needs.
I love working with clients who are motivated to improve their mental health. My clients are eager to make positive changes in their mental health and reduce the symptoms that are limiting them in living their best lives. "Let’s work together to help you achieve your goals. Live the life you deserve – be a part of your journey to a better, happier, and more fulfilling life."
I have been trained in clinical-hypnosis since 2019 and find that my clients highly enjoy this modality. Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that involves utilizing a hypnotic trance, a state of inner absorption, concentration, and heightened attention that allows access to the full power of the mind. Hypnotic trance helps us get out of our own way by avoiding the critical censor of the conscious mind, which often defeats what we know to be in our best interests.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) may assist individuals who struggle with mood disorders, anxiety, or feelings of shame and self-criticism, often stemming from early experiences of abuse or neglect. Through exercises like role-playing, visualization, meditation, and activities that promote gratitude for everyday life, CFT teaches clients about the mind-body connection and guides them in practicing awareness of their thoughts and bodily sensations.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an approach to therapy that helps clients identify their emotions, learn to explore and experience them, to understand them and then to manage them. Emotionally Focused Therapy embraces the idea that emotions can be changed, first by arriving at or 'living' the maladaptive emotion (e.g. loss, fear or shame) in session, and then learning to transform it.
Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) For clients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, or MBCT, is a two-part therapy that aims to reduce stress, manage pain, and embrace the freedom to respond to situations by choice.
