(she/her)
Hi! I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Florida with three years of experience helping individuals, families, and children identify their strengths and achieve their goals. I am originally from Texas and received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Prairie View A&M. I enjoyed working as an elementary school counselor for 8 years in Hillsborough County where I passionately supported children in their academic, social, and emotional well-being. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, relationships, life transitions, as well as ADHD and ASD strategies for all ages.
In our first session, you can anticipate introducing ourselves to one another and discussing what has brought you to counseling. We will go over office procedures and set up our next appointment. My goal is to create a caring and peaceful environment that helps you feel comfortable and safe.
Utilizing my school counseling background, my greatest strengths are having an understanding getting to know a person, identifying concern, and developing a plan to address the concern. In addition, building a positive rapport with clients and helping others see progress in themselves.
I strive to build positive relationships with children and adults to help them make positive differences in their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the last few years. In my experience, CBT has helped my clients with reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and ADHD symptoms. CBT is an effective way to recognize how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We can use this knowledge to help shape and make positive changes in your life. Dialectical Behavior (DBT) DBT helps clients live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others
