I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health concerns. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their challenges and working toward meaningful improvements in their well-being. I take a collaborative and patient-centered approach to treatment, offering personalized medication management and holistic mental health care tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. My training at Regis College of Nursing and experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams allow me to develop thoughtful treatment plans that focus on both symptom relief and long-term wellness. I am passionate about empowering individuals to better understand their mental health and take an active role in their care. I also provide bilingual psychiatric services in English and Spanish to ensure accessible and culturally sensitive support. My focus is helping patients regain balance, improve daily functioning, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Starting your first session with a psychiatric provider can feel overwhelming, but my goal is to make the process comfortable and supportive. During our first appointment, we will take time to discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, and any medications you may be taking. Together we will explore your treatment goals and develop a personalized plan that may include medication management, therapy recommendations, or lifestyle strategies to support your mental well-being. I encourage you to ask questions and share any concerns so that we can make informed decisions about your care. My priority is to create a safe, respectful environment where you feel heard and supported as we work together toward improving your mental health and overall quality of life.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to connect with patients through empathy and understanding. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, emotions, and concerns. I believe that active listening and open communication are essential in building trust and developing a strong therapeutic relationship. My approach is collaborative, allowing patients to feel heard and supported while we work together to identify solutions and develop a personalized treatment plan. I am also committed to being responsive and supportive throughout the treatment process. I encourage patients to communicate openly and ask questions so they feel confident and informed about their care. My goal is to empower individuals to better understand their mental health and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.
I work with adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety (GAD), depression (MDD), OCD, and PTSD, among other mental health conditions, who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or not like themselves. Many of my clients are balancing work, relationships, and daily responsibilities while struggling with focus, emotional regulation, or persistent stress. My approach is personalized and evidence-based, helping you regain clarity, emotional balance, and confidence so you can function at your best and feel more in control of your life.
Integrative
I take an integrative and patient-centered approach to mental health care, combining different evidence-based strategies to meet each individual’s unique needs. I often incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), lifestyle modifications, stress management strategies, and thoughtful medication management when appropriate. Because every person’s experience is different, I work collaboratively with patients to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals, strengths, and preferences. I believe that patients should play an active role in their treatment, and I encourage open communication and shared decision-making throughout the process. Education and empowerment are important parts of my practice. I help patients better understand their mental health, treatment options, and how medication and therapy can work together to support long-term well-being. I am also committed to providing culturally sensitive care, respecting each patient’s background, values, and experiences while creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

I really appreciate the time Maria Antunez took to sit with me and listen to everything I was feeling and concerned about. She was patient, attentive, and made me feel comfortable opening up. It’s not always easy to find a psychiatrist who truly listens, and I’m grateful for her support and care.
