Carrie Miller
Hi, I'm Carrie, a licensed clinical social worker with more than 15 years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges with greater self-understanding, confidence, and compassion. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, collaborative space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply ready for change, we'll work together to better understand your experiences and develop practical tools that support your goals. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and feelings of overwhelm. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals who have spent much of their lives caring for others, navigating high expectations, or struggling to prioritize their own needs. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques while recognizing the important connection between the mind and body. My goal is to help you build insight, strengthen coping skills, reconnect with your values, and create meaningful, lasting change. You don't have to navigate this alone. I'm honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, explore your current challenges, and discuss your goals and hopes for our work together. I'll ask questions about your background, relationships, strengths, and any past experiences that may be important to understanding your story. You're always welcome to share at your own pace—there is no pressure to talk about anything you're not ready to discuss. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we'll identify what you need most and begin creating a plan that feels meaningful and manageable for you.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. I believe meaningful change happens within a trusting relationship, and I strive to help clients feel comfortable showing up as their full, authentic selves. Clients often describe me as compassionate, relatable, and easy to talk to. I have a natural ability to translate complex concepts into practical, everyday language, helping clients better understand themselves and apply new insights in their daily lives. My approach is collaborative and individualized—I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. I integrate evidence-based practices with a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective, helping clients build on their existing resilience while developing new skills and tools. With over 15 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings, I bring both expertise and genuine curiosity to our work together. My goal is not to "fix" you, but to support you in reconnecting with your strengths, deepening self-understanding, and creating meaningful change that aligns with your values.
