Since the days of pigtails, I’ve been pulled by this strong force to access wisdom and connect with something higher than this tangible world. This gnawing passion has led me to study the power of the mind and how to create what our souls truly desire. I’ve been blessed to study ancient technologies such as yoga and breathwork and am so passionate about sharing simple tools to effect real change. I was trained in counseling at University of North Texas, receiving my Masters in Education. My favorite courses were transpersonal counseling and stress reduction through movement. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and have currently been practicing for 4 years. I’m also a certified yoga teacher and trained at the Shri Kali ashram in India. The types of yoga I teach focus on activating the parasympathetic nervous system to release the whole self from the ever vigilant fight or flight mode a lot of us find ourselves in on a constant basis to survive in this modern culture. In the therapy session, my main intent is to be fully present with you, free of judgment; to Become a spacious environment in which you can explore your own truth and start to shed the layers that no longer serve.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will go over the intake assessment so that I can better understand who you are, what your challenges are, as well as your heart's desires.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've wanted to become a therapist since the age of 9, ever since then I've found myself reading about self development, which led to many practices in many places. I believe my passion and my heart are my greatest strengths as a therapist.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

I believe the connection between the mind and body is crucial for allowing transformation to unfold. I was trained in India as a yoga teacher which enabled me to gain some practical techniques and practices for integrating somatic techniques in a therapeutic setting. The importance of basic bodily awareness, breath awareness and building breathwork tools can be enriching, enlivening and freeing. Some of my clients don't feel comfortable doing any bodily practices in session, and that is totally OK.

Compassion Focused

I believe it is vitally important to cultivate compassion for the self, especially when we are trying to shed layers that no longer serve. I strive to generate a safe, non judgmental, loving space in which you can see yourself and love yourself in a more complete way. In fact, my number one intention for every single session is to provide that safe, warm, compassionate space in which you can feel emotionally seen and held. It is in this safety, that true transformation can occur.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I'm really excited about helping the client to generate present centered consciousness which allows for more joy, vitality and pure appreciation of life. Becoming mindful can be incredibly freeing and can enrich our lives on every level of experience. The Essence of Presence is what I'm all about!

Existential

I believe it is important to look at the deeper layers inside oneself, attempting to answer the most meaningful questions... Who am I? What do I really want? What do I truly desire to create in my life and relationships? Am I willing to face uncomfortable realities and fears? I find it extremely rewarding in my own life, as well as in my work with clients to be Willing to Delve deeply..... But again, I don't require it of any clients. I believe it is crucially important to meet clients Where They Are and to go from there.
