Hello! I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to holistic, accessible, virtual treatment of depression, anxiety, mood disorders and trauma. I have worked in healthcare for 17 years - first in international humanitarian aid, then as a nurse, public health practitioner, certified nurse-midwife and now mental health provider. I love working with clients who are curious about integrative mental health and want to address symptoms through nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle, psychotherapy and when indicated, prescription medication management. I am also able to work closely with clients who are interested in deprescribing of medications. I am licensed as a nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority in both Wisconsin (APNP) and Pennsylvania (CRNP) and see clients living in either state.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will focus on building trust and gaining an understanding of the values you bring to treatment, the symptoms you are experiencing and your goals for working together. A diagnostic evaluation includes recommendations for lab work, a review of your medical history and any pertinent records, and a lifestyle review.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I approach each client as an individual and do not have a one-size-fits-all approach. We take into account biological, cognitive, developmental, social/personality and both mental/physical health components when developing a treatment plan.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My practice is open to ages 18+ and I specialize in treating women in the perinatal period, recovering from PTSD and working with other health care providers. My cash rate is $50/15 minutes. Most visits are 30 min ($100) for med management or 45 min ($150)/60 min ($200 for extended therapy sessions)

My treatment methods

Integrative

Integrative psychiatric care expands beyond a medical model of psychiatry, which focuses on prescribing medications to address specific symptoms. I work with you longitudinally to holistically assess the factors and context of your concerning mental health symptoms and address the root causes of those symptoms with applicable lab work, psychotherapeutic techniques, nutrition, lifestyle factors, high quality supplements, and sometimes prescription medication. I can also work with you to deprescribe medications that you have been previously taking.

Somatic

Somatic therapy methods help you develop resources to self-regulate your emotions and move out of fight/flight/freeze mode to help you think more clearly - clients build the capacity to feel more comfortable in their body and sit in the physical sensations associated with their emotions. Exploring the mind-body connection in addressing symptoms is an integral part of my practice.

Narrative

Narrative therapeutic methods are helpful for individual who want to become aware of and change the stories of their lives and the meanings made of their experiences.

EMDR

I have completed training in EMDR through EMDRIA specifically for perinatal populations. I have been using these modalities for more than three years as part of a holistic approach to psychiatric care.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, which is an evidence-based time-limited therapy shown to be highly effective at reducing and eliminating symptoms.
