Queen Nwobodo

(she/her)4 years of experience

I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I provide holistic, compassionate mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. My approach combines medication management with supportive therapy, tailored to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.

I’m skilled at blending medication management with therapeutic support in a way that’s tailored, practical, and collaborative.

I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered in your journey toward lasting mental wellness.

First session

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming conversation focused on understanding your unique story, challenges, and goals. We'll go over your mental health history, current concerns, and any past treatments or medications. I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your well-being—emotionally, physically, and socially—so we can create a treatment plan that fits your needs. You’ll also have space to ask questions, share your priorities, and talk about what you’re hoping to get out of care. My goal is to make sure you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning.

Strengths

As a provider, my greatest strengths are empathy, clinical insight, and a holistic, person-centered approach to care. I strive to build strong, trusting relationships where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. I’m skilled at blending medication management with therapeutic support in a way that’s tailored, practical, and collaborative. I take the time to understand each individual’s unique needs and help them feel empowered in their treatment journey. My calm, grounded presence helps clients feel safe, especially when navigating difficult emotions or life transitions.

Ideal clients

I'm best positioned to serve clients who are seeking a thoughtful, balanced approach to mental health care—those who may benefit from both medication management and supportive therapy. I work well with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or life transitions, and who are ready to engage in their care with openness and curiosity. I especially support clients who value a collaborative relationship and are looking for personalized, evidence-based treatment that considers the whole person.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), both through formal training and direct clinical application. CBT’s structured, evidence-based approach has been foundational in my work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their distress. This often involves collaboratively identifying cognitive distortions, exploring core beliefs, and using tools like thought records, behavioral experiments, and exposure strategies. I tailor CBT techniques to each client’s needs—sometimes integrating mindfulness, motivational interviewing, or emotion regulation strategies—to ensure the approach is both flexible and effective. I also place strong emphasis on psychoeducation and skill-building, empowering clients to apply CBT principles in their daily lives and maintain progress independently. Ultimately, CBT allows me to provide clients with a clear framework for understanding their challenges, and a concrete roadmap for change.
