(she/her)
I'm Aimy Jakini, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) serving adults across California through telehealth. I specialize in medication management for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and sleep difficulties — and I offer care in both English and Spanish, because I believe you should be able to describe how you're feeling in the language that feels most like home. My approach is warm, unhurried, and collaborative: I see you as a whole person, not a checklist of symptoms, and I work with you to find a path forward that actually fits your life.
Our first appointment is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what's been bringing you down, what you've tried before, your health history, and what you're hoping life looks and feels like on the other side of this. There's no pressure to have all the answers — you can share as much or as little as you're ready for. By the end, we'll have a clear picture of where you are and a starting plan we both feel good about. My goal is that you leave that first session feeling genuinely heard, not rushed.
What patients tell me sets me apart is that I take time to listen before I prescribe. With a doctoral-level clinical background and years of experience in psychiatric care — including complex cases — I bring both the expertise to assess thoroughly and the patience to explain your options in plain language. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, which means nothing gets lost in translation for my Spanish-speaking patients. And because I practice entirely via telehealth, getting consistent, high-quality psychiatric care doesn't require taking a day off work or finding a ride — it fits around your life.
I do my best work with adults who are ready to take that first step — even if they're not sure what it looks like yet. Maybe you've been pushing through anxiety, low mood, or exhaustion longer than you'd like to admit. You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support, and you don't need to have the right words when you walk in. You just need to be willing to show up. I'm especially well-suited to serve patients in the Inland Empire — including those who prefer to speak Spanish — who want a provider that takes time to understand their full picture. If you've ever felt rushed or dismissed by a provider, I want to offer you something different. My patients often come to me carrying anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or sleep struggles — sometimes all at once, while still managing work, family, and everything else life asks of them. If that sounds like you, you're exactly who I had in mind. Cash initial session: $200. Cash follow-up session: $100.

Supportive
My work is rooted in a supportive approach because I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is healing. Before we talk about medications or strategies, I want you to feel safe enough to be honest — about what's hard, what's not working, and what you're afraid to say out loud. I draw on active listening, validation, and genuine curiosity about your life to build that foundation. From there, we problem-solve together rather than me handing you a plan from the outside. Many of my patients have never had a provider who simply sat with them in the difficulty before trying to fix it — and that experience of being truly heard often becomes the turning point.
Mind-body approach
Stress, trauma, and anxiety don't just live in your thoughts — they live in your body too. Tight shoulders, racing heart, trouble sleeping, feeling constantly on edge: these are your nervous system talking. I incorporate a mind-body lens into my care by helping patients understand the connection between their physical symptoms and their mental health, and by exploring tools like breathwork, sleep hygiene, and relaxation techniques alongside medication when appropriate. This is especially meaningful for patients who've been told their physical symptoms are "just stress" — because that dismissal is frustrating, and because understanding the real connection between mind and body is actually empowering, not reductive.
