Hi there! I have been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California for the last 17 years. I am a transplant from the East Coast, but have lived in Los Angeles for over 30 years. I have a background in treating addiction, trauma and grief. I am an advanced level Somatic Practitioner, using both my talk and trauma therapy to help individuals, couples and families achieve healthy communication and heal emotional wounds. I started my work in high schools working with teenagers and have worked with everyone along the spectrum, including many senior clients in their '80's. I see everyone as an individual seeking support, regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity or sexuality and I am her to help.
I am a therapist with the passion and conviction to help and heal. I come from a person-centered perspective and prioritize building a therapeutic relationship with my clients. I encourage questions and try to be an open book. I am an empathetic listener and hope that our first session will involve us getting acquainted, discussing the issues at hand and how/if I am a good fit to assist them on their healing journey.
I am an empathetic, compassionate educator and trauma therapist. I pride myself in being relatable, authentic and passionate about what I do and how I can assist others on their journey of healing.
As a therapist that has treated a variety of clients from adolescence to the elderly, I find that the commonality of my clients are experiencing pain and are looking for help. I am a person-centered practitioner and have treated clients with anxiety and depression, as well schizophrenia, gender dysphoria, grief, suicidal ideation, severe trauma and addiction. I come from an empathetic perspective and am open to listening and learning from my clients. I believe in going on this healing journey together and if either of us do not feel I am helping or this is not a perfect fit, I am the first to listen, discuss and help in finding the right practitioner. My place is to create safety and be of help.

She is very easy to talk to. Nothing seems to shock her and she will give examples of how to make things better for me.
I have been a Person-Centered therapist for over 16 years. The core principles of Rogerian therapy and what drew me to this approach are; empathy, unconditional positive regard, authenticity and developing a clinical relationship, with the purpose of creating a safe therapeutic space for sharing your deepest concerns. I am open to my clients and allow them to ask questions. I want to develop a therapeutic bond with my clients, so that they will feel comfortable setting the pace and direction of where they need to go, knowing I will be there to support them.
Somatic therapy explores how the body expresses deeply painful experiences, applying mind-body healing to aid with trauma recovery. Somatic experiencing is a specific form of the modality developed by trauma therapist Dr. Peter Levine. It is considered a leading edge therapy for PTSD and other stress disorders. Sessions typically involve clients tracking their physical experiences, while calming the nervous system and releasing the trauma that has been trapped as a result of our past experiences. In 2013, I began studying the modality and completed the 3-year program in 2017 and have integrated it in my practice ever since. I am passionate about complex or developmental trauma and how it has affected us in our adult lives, especially in our relationships, self-esteem and professional lives. I have been on both sides of the table and am driven to give back to my clients the peace and freedom I have received as a result of the experience with this modality.
