Daisy Ko
People often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. As a therapist, I bring genuine curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person's unique story. As a Korean American immigrant, I understand firsthand how culture, family values, identity, and belonging can influence our emotional experiences and relationships. I am committed to providing culturally responsive care and creating a space where clients can openly explore the parts of themselves that may feel misunderstood, conflicted, or overlooked.
First session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask some questions to learn more about you and your background, and you're always welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. I'll also ask about what helps you feel at ease and what might make our work together more comfortable for you. My goal is simply to create a space where you feel heard and supported from the very start.
Strengths
What I bring to therapy is a combination of warmth, insight, and genuine curiosity about each person's story. I have a natural ability to help clients slow down, notice patterns they may not have recognized before, and connect their present struggles to the experiences that shaped them. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building practical tools for growth. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up because they feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are seeking more than symptom relief—they want to better understand themselves. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, emotional suppression, or challenges in their relationships. Often, they feel caught between caring for others and caring for themselves and are looking for a way to feel more grounded, authentic, and connected. As a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist, I also love working with children and their parents. I am passionate about helping families understand the emotions behind behaviors, strengthen their connection, and support children’s growth through the healing and expressive power of play.
