I am licensed in Florida with 8 years of professional work experience. I obtain a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling and have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs and am very excited to assist you in reaching your goals. My therapy approach is person-centered. I believe in providing a non-judgmental environment for my clients to talk freely about the issues they may be experiencing to enable them to be honest within themselves and allow self-exploration.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My greatest strength as a mental health counselor is my ability to listen, empathize, build rapport, and promote hope in the lives of clients. I have experienced numerous encounters of clients shifting towards improvement from the very first session just through psychotherapy.
I would summarize CBT as a therapeutic approach that focuses on an individual’s distressing thought patterns, unhealthy coping patterns and behaviors, and attempts to alter them in a practical and logical manner. It is concerned with the present and the future, not the past. I utilize this tool to help my clients gain an understanding of the feelings that they are experiencing and how it can contribute to their behaviors by working with them to reinforce negative behaviors and live a healthy life.
This therapy method is the belief that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential. In therapy, I utilize this method by implementing active listening, encouragement, focusing solely on the client and their needs, and working to validate the emotions.
