Hi, I'm Casey! Life can feel exhausting when you’re constantly managing anxiety, overthinking, relationship stress, or the pressure to hold everything together. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you don’t have to do that alone. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up authentically, feel genuinely supported, and begin creating meaningful change at your own pace. As a Licensed Clincial Social Worker offering virtual therapy in Virginia, my role is to walk with you in creating a safe, empowering space. Together, we'll explore and employ a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself and more confident in your ability to handle life’s ups and downs. Therapy with me is not about fixing you—it’s about understanding your experiences, strengthening your inner resources, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned and meaningful. Reaching out for support can be difficult, and I honor the courage it takes to begin. I look forward to meeting you where you are and walking alongside you at a pace that feels right for you.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session will be slightly longer than follow-up sessions, lasting just about an hour. This initial session is crucial in laying the foundation for our therapeutic relationship. We'll start with a brief introduction. It's important for you to feel comfortable and informed, so I'll spend time going over the informed consent, which includes therapy risks and benefits, scheduling, billing and other logistical details. Understanding the importance of privacy, I'll explain the confidentiality aspect of our sessions, ensuring a safe and trusting environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings. Then we'll dive into intake questions to gather your background information. This is a key step in understanding where you're coming from and what brings you to therapy. Towards the end, we'll be able to focus on your main concerns. It's okay if you're not entirely clear about these yet; identifying them is part of the process. Although we'll fine-tune your therapy goals in subsequent sessions, we may begin this discussion in our first meeting.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I come with experience in working with ages 5-100 with a passion for children and adolscents. I have had the privilege of working within nursing homes, hospitals, inpatient psych, schools, hospice and various other settings. My therapy style is grounded in building strong therapeutic relationships, fostering emotional safety, and tailoring evidence-based interventions to each client’s unique needs. I bring a collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented approach that helps clients feel both supported and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. I aim to meet clients where they are with curiosity and patience so we can safely explore difficult emotions, build insight, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I look forward to working with clients who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, but is open to exploring new ways of understanding themselves and their relationships. They value a supportive, collaborative space where they can build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change at their own pace. Together, we create a space where they can feel safe, supported, and empowered to reconnect with themselves and move toward healthier, more fulfilling patterns.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, or depression, and work toward developing healthier coping strategies. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented, with a focus on creating practical changes that feel sustainable in everyday life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and feeling more grounded in daily life. Together, we work on balancing acceptance and change — learning how to honor your experiences while also developing healthier coping strategies. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel more confident and emotionally resilient.

Family Therapy

I use a family systems approach to help individuals and families better understand relationship patterns, communication dynamics, and the ways each person’s experiences impact the family as a whole. My goal is to create a supportive space where family members can strengthen connection, improve communication, and work through conflict together with greater understanding and compassion.

Motivational Interviewing

My therapeutic approach incorporates Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based, client-centered modality designed to enhance motivation and support behavioral change. I work collaboratively with clients to explore barriers, clarify personal values, and build readiness for change in a compassionate and empowering environment.

Trauma Informed Care

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, which means I prioritize emotional safety, trust, and compassion in the therapeutic process. I recognize how past experiences can shape the way we think, feel, relate to others, and move through the world. Together, we work at a pace that feels supportive while building coping skills, self-awareness, and resilience.
