New to Grow
I provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults in a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe exploring their experiences and working toward meaningful change. My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I believe that each person has unique strengths, experiences, and goals, and I strive to tailor treatment to meet the individual needs of every client. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients develop insight, build resilience, and create lasting change. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, substance use concerns, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and challenges related to self-esteem and identity. As a former Division I athlete and immigrant, I also have a special interest in supporting athletes, high performers, and individuals navigating cultural transitions, performance pressures, and major life changes. My goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I view therapy as a partnership and work alongside clients to identify strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward a life that aligns with their values and goals. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult time, looking to improve your mental health, or hoping to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I am committed to providing a space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can occur. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
Our first session Starting therapy can feel exciting, uncomfortable, hopeful, or even a little overwhelming, all of those feelings are completely normal. My goal in our first session is to create a space where you feel welcomed, heard, and supported from the very beginning. What to expect in our first session Our first session is mainly about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, your goals for therapy, and any important background information that may help me better understand your experiences. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming in. It is okay if you are unsure where to start, we will work through it together. We’ll begin with a conversation At the start of the session, I will briefly review confidentiality, my role as your therapist, and what therapy with me generally looks like. I want you to know that this is a collaborative process, and you are always encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, or let me know if something does not feel comfortable or helpful. Then, we will move into a conversation about you. Some topics we may discuss include: What brought you to therapy right now Symptoms or challenges you have been experiencing (such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, or life transitions) How these challenges are affecting your daily life, work, school, relationships, sleep, or overall well-being Your personal history, including family, cultural background, important life experiences, and support systems Any previous experiences with therapy or mental health treatment Your strengths, coping skills, and what has helped you in the past You are in control of what you choose to share. There is no pressure to talk about everything in one session, especially if certain experiences feel sensitive or difficult to discuss. A collaborative and supportive approach I approach therapy from a client-centered and trauma-informed perspective, which means I prioritize creating a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment. I understand that sharing personal experiences can feel vulnerable, and I move at a pace that feels manageable for you. During the session, I may ask questions to help clarify your experiences and better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This is not an interrogation or a test — it is simply a way for me to learn how I can best support you. I also believe therapy works best when it feels lik
