My name is Tiara and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in the field for 7 years with adolescents and adults who experienced carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or family stress. I am passionate about building healthy skills and healing which prevents clients from a fulfilled and healthy life. Life is already overwhelming when you’re navigating change and facing uncertainty - that's why my approach is warm, inviting and gently challenging to help clients move out of their comfort zone and release what no longer serves them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

This first session is not about having all the answers or sharing every detail of your life. Instead, it’s an opportunity for us to begin building a strong therapeutic relationship and develop a better understanding of your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I want to understand what experiences worked and did not work for you if you had therapy in the past. Essentially, I want to learn about you, but without the pressure!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, my greatest strength is my warm, supportive and non-judgmental nature. Clients often appreciate my ability to build strong relationships, foster trust, and help them feel less alone during difficult seasons of life. My goal is to provide a space where clients can gain clarity and build resilience - so they can face life's challenges with confidence!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with people who are ready to invest in themselves, embrace growth, and create meaningful change; even when life feels uncertain. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support. Helping clients gain the confidence and tools to work through life's challenges is the ultimate goal!

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

At its core, ACT is about learning to be present, treating yourself with compassion, and staying connected to your values so you can live more fully, even during life's most challenging moments. Together, we'll work on recognizing what truly matters to you and help you respond to difficult emotions in a way that gives them less control over your choices!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The goal isn't to force positive thinking, or ignore real challenges; instead, CBT helps you develop a more balanced and realistic perspective. Together, we'll explore how certain thoughts may be affecting your emotions and decisions and whether those thoughts are helping you move toward the life you want, or holding you back! As you gain awareness of the patterns, you'll learn practice tools to manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, and build confidence in your ability to handle life's challenges.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution focused therapy shifts the focus from what's wrong to what is possible! Together, we'll work on identifying the moments where challenges feel more manageable, and understanding what made it possible to manage. Essentially, we will work on small realistic steps to create more of what is already helping, or gain confidence in your abilities to a clear path forward!
