Hi! I am Carrie Hill, a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (Advance Practice) with 8 years of experience as an advanced practice provider and 16 years of experience working in psychiatry. I provide assessment, diagnosis, medication management, therapy, and addiction treatment services. I work with you, on your team, and listen closely to your needs to help develop an individualized treatment plan for those who need help with depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, binge eating disorder, and substance use disorders. ***Important disclosure- controlled medications provided in NC only.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will spend our initial appointment discussing your current symptoms, the ways they interfere with your goals, and how they have changed over time. We will also establish the foundation of your symptoms by forming a timeline of your life identifying turning points (good and bad) as they may inform our treatment options or illuminate aspects of your illness that would otherwise be overlooked. Then review symptoms and go over all the education needed for you to make the best decision for your care.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a team player. I appreciate a trusting relationship so I can provide you the best care that you deserve. I understand that no two people are the same and I want to help you meet your individualized needs and goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I see adults ages 13 to 64 with any mental health and/or addiction issues.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counselling method that involves enhancing a client's motivation to change. Using 4 concepts: resist the righting reflex, understanding the client's own motivations, listening with empathy, and empowering the client.
