LPC, 14 years of experience
I am a native Spanish speaker originally from Colombia. I have had the privilege to work with English and Spanish-speaking adult clients for the past 14 years to effectively help them overcome issues caused by depression, anxiety, grief/loss, self-esteem, and abuse. Also, I can support clients maintain sobriety from all kinds of addictions. I completed my master’s degree in professional counseling in the state of Georgia where I also hold an active license to practice therapy.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges that you are facing. Collaboratively, we will develop a tailored treatment plan that will guide our subsequent sessions.
I effectively help adult clients find balance again when facing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictive behaviors, trauma and abuse.
My preference is to work with adult male and female clients for individual therapy.

Although our session didn't work out, Carmen was very understanding and I can tell she would serve others very well. If I'm ever looking for individual sessions in the future, I would return.

Mrs. Benitez is warm, kind, solution oriented, respectful of customs and beliefs, and more. She really understands what her patients need. She is excellent in explaining concepts and so forth in a simple way. Her use of relevant illustrations is fantastic! Such a kind and professional person. She really cares about people and is honesthearted.

I have been using Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) since the beginning of my career in therapy. The CBT model looks at the beliefs and thoughts that we have about certain situations, and how they influence the feelings we experience. Using the cognitive model, you will learn to identify your own patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. You'll come to understand how your thoughts shape how you feel, and how they impact your life in significant ways. Once you become aware of your own irrational thoughts, you will learn to change them.
