My name is Abel Bueno Gonzalez, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with five years of experience working in the mental health field. I have served individuals across various levels of care, including partial hospitalization programs, psychiatric crisis units, outpatient centers, and community clinics. My experience spans a wide range of populations—from adolescents to adults to older adults—each with unique needs and challenges. I take a collaborative and compassionate approach, working closely with each patient to truly understand their symptoms, life circumstances, and treatment goals. I provide comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and medication management—all tailored to meet your individual needs. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, mood changes, or emotional stress, my goal is to make you feel heard, supported, and respected. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that helps you feel more in control, improves your well-being, and supports your path toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
During your first session, you can expect to feel seen, heard, and supported. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure where to begin—I want you to know that’s completely okay. My goal from the start is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk freely and begin to feel some relief just by being listened to with empathy and respect. In this session, we’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, your symptoms, and how they’ve affected you. We’ll also explore your goals, what you’re hoping to feel or change, and go over treatment options that make sense for you. You won’t be rushed, and you don’t have to have all the answers—we’ll figure it out together. I’ll also explain any medications or therapies in a way that’s easy to understand, so you can feel confident and informed in your care. This session is about starting a partnership based on honesty, cultural sensitivity, and trust—because healing happens when you know you’re not alone, and that someone is truly in your corner.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, you're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I help individuals living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, or trauma take meaningful steps toward feeling better. My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized—I’ll listen without judgment, value your input, and work with you to find the right treatment. Together, we’ll build a plan that helps you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your mental health.
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are ready to take an active role in improving their mental health, whether they’re just starting their journey or have been managing symptoms for some time. I work well with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, mood instability, or difficulty functioning in their daily lives. My approach is collaborative and patient-centered: I listen closely, value your input, and treat you as an equal partner in your care. Together, we will focus on improving your emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life through personalized treatment planning, including thoughtful medication management when appropriate. My goal is to help you feel stable, motivated, and equipped to manage life’s challenges and move toward your full potential.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by helping clients identify and challenge distorted thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. I guide them in developing healthier coping strategies and cognitive restructuring techniques to manage symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts. Through collaborative goal-setting and structured sessions, I empower clients to build insight and long-term resilience.
