I am a dual-board certified Nurse Practitioner with specialties in Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Primary Care. I have been treating mood disorders, such as depression, for the past twelve years. I focus on individualized care with my patients, taking into account their past experiences with medications and their current priorities with treatment. Prioritizing holistic well-being, I address the whole person through open communication and collaboration. I combine medication management with cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
Before scheduling an initial intake appointment, I do a 15-minute call with all prospective patients to discuss goals and mental health needs. During an initial intake appointment, we will go into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. Please note that I do not prescribe routine/daily benzodiazepines and patients on any controlled substances, such as stimulants, are required to have an in-person appointment before December 2024 to comply with federal law.
Having worked with adults in various community settings and private practices for the past 12 years as a family practitioner and then a psych specialist, I have garnered the knowledge and experience to help patients treat the root of their challenges and create a plan that leads to measurable progress.
Anxiety, depression, and mental health disorders can make our day-to-day life difficult to navigate. My goal is to demystify psychiatric medications and help patients formulate a plan that ultimately affects positive change in their lives.
I prioritize open communication and collaboration with my patients. I focus on medication management with mindfulness and solution-focused therapy.
