Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters in Community Counseling and my doctorate in Counseling Psychology. I have been practicing for 30 years. I am experienced in providing care in person as well as through teleheath. I initially started in addictions but have 20 years experience working with The Department of Veteran Affairs as well as multiple community base mental health treatment facilities.
The first session usually is a feeling out, data collecting session. Therapy is a process and part of that process is the development of a therapeutic working relationship between the client and the therapist. So I would expect you to ask me questions to get to know me as I, in turn ask you questions to get to understand your reason and expectations of therapy.
A key for doing this work is compassion, you must love people. We all have a mission, something we were meant to do and I feel this is what my God meant for me to do.
I truly enjoy working with individual who are going through one of the developmental phases of their life or that have encountered a stuck point and may need assistance in moving through it. Assisting clients that are experiencing personal growth and development are the reason I continue to have hope for us.
The Eclectic approach allow the provider/therapist to choose from a broad range of therapeutic approaches so as to best match the therapeutic intervention to the client needs.
