I believe that therapy should always be about what is important to you. My role is to help you on your journey of self-discovery and ultimately self-acceptance. I specialize in individual and relationship therapy, with a focus on Client Centered Therapy. I am a Licensed Counselor with 8 years experience in Crisis services and 5 years experience in Community Mental Health services. I believe in creating a safe environment for problem-solving, healing and growth. I am a Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator for Relationship Therapy. Taking the first steps to therapy can be daunting and finding the right therapist can be challenging. It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and understood, that's when progress happens. Contact me today.

First session

During our initial appointment we will get to know each other a bit. We will discuss important Intake details, discuss what is bringing you to therapy, discuss your goals and what you want to accomplish while in therapy, and overall you will have the space to discuss what is going on for you and how you can best be supported.

Strengths

I believe in a client centered approach. Which means that you will get to talk about what is going on for you at the moment first. Then we will work on what you have set for your goals. We will always discuss your coping strategies and if you feel they are effective. While I believe in letting the client guide the appointment, I also believe that it is my responsibility to keep us on track and facilitate progress. I will listen and then potentially offer alternative perspectives to assist you with open thinking.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to support clients who feel "stuck" or overwhelmed. Many of the people that I work with are navigating identity, relationships, and work/life balance. I am an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community. If you are finding it hard to be kind to yourself, are feeling disconnected, or are carrying heavy emotional burdens, I offer a nonjudgmental supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. CBT operates on the core principle that changing thinking patterns and behaviors can improve emotional well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented counseling style. It helps the individual to find internal motivations to change behaviors. The therapist guides the individual to explore their own reasons for change.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy combines present-moment awareness, non-judgmental acceptance, and cognitive techniques to assist with breaking negative though patterns.
