My therapeutic style is unique, as I am warm, engaged, and genuine, while maintaining a strong commitment to fostering growth and promoting change. Those who like learning practical solutions, while also deepening their understanding of themselves, tend to view my approach favorably.
A combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy may be used in our work. In other words, I use an approach that explores one's thoughts and their relationship to their emotions, believing that our interpretation of events creates our reality and contributes to the development of feelings that cause discomfort and distress. I also seek to work with clients on regulating their emotions and tolerating distress, which often are steps one must take before they can process their emotions using a thought analysis approach. Thus, this combination of techniques leads to my ability to assist in managing a wide variety of clinical issues and populations.
Clients find me to be warm and empathic, while also intuitive and insightful. Clients easily develop rapport with me and value my engaged approach in session. I have a keen ability to identify challenges and suggest strategies that assist clients in becoming more encouraged that they have the skills within them to heal and move forward in a transformational way. In my career as a psychologist, I have worked with diversified clientele that I have a unique skillset that can target a wide variety of issues you might present with in therapy as well.
