New to Grow
I am a trauma informed therapist who works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, their patterns, and the experiences that shaped them. I specialize in trauma focused care, first responder mental health, anxiety, relationship stress, emotional regulation, and attachment wounds. My style is empathetic, nonjudgmental, collaborative, and often includes humor when appropriate. I believe therapy works best when clients feel respected, safe, understood, and not pathologized.
In our first session, we will take time to get to know you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your desired outcome for therapy, review any relevant assessments, and begin identifying the areas where you would like support or change. My goal is to create a collaborative, respectful space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as we begin building a plan for your care.
My greatest strengths are my ability to create a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space while still being direct and honest. I help clients connect the dots between their past experiences, current patterns, emotions, relationships, and coping strategies. My approach is trauma informed, practical, empathetic, and often includes appropriate humor, helping clients feel understood while also giving them tools they can use outside of session.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, their patterns, and how past experiences may be impacting their present life. I am best positioned to serve clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, relationship stress, life transitions, attachment wounds, emotional overwhelm, and first responder related stress. I offer a collaborative therapy experience where I do not sit above clients as the expert on their lives, but work alongside them with respect, curiosity, and honesty. Together, we focus on building insight, emotional regulation, healthier boundaries, and a stronger sense of self.
Trauma Informed Care
I use trauma focused care as a foundational part of my clinical work and hold certifications in trauma therapy and working with first responders. I have experience supporting first responders and clients impacted by complex trauma, relational trauma, grief, anxiety, and attachment wounds. In practice, I prioritize safety, stabilization, emotional regulation, and trust before moving into deeper trauma work. My goal is to help clients process trauma at a safe pace while building insight, resilience, and healthier ways of coping.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical responses. In practice, I help clients recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge distorted beliefs, and develop healthier coping strategies. I often use CBT to support clients with anxiety, depression, trauma responses, relationship stress, and life transitions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT informed interventions to help clients build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. In practice, I help clients identify emotional triggers, respond rather than react, and develop healthier ways to cope with distress. I often use DBT skills with clients who struggle with intense emotions, relationship conflict, impulsivity, anxiety, trauma responses, and self criticism.
