Sometimes the body is the first indicator that it's time to deal with our trauma. When this happens, the feelings that arise can be overwhelming and scary. The good news is, you don't have to deal with them alone. In the words of Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score: “Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.” My role in this process is to help you understand the origin of these thoughts and gently escort you into a new future. Need to talk about issues of trauma, depression or anxiety? Feel like you’re drowning amidst all the recent changes in your life? If so, I’d be happy to explore this with you further. I help adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures deal with different life transitions and manage self esteem issues. I have a trauma focused background and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I primarily use the tools of compassion, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and problem solving to offer new perspectives on dealing with intergenerational trauma. In many cases, certain behaviors unknowingly are repeated between parents and their children. In session, we address your childhood trauma by discussing what happened, and processing your past and present feelings. Aside from family trauma repetitions, dealing with all the recent changes in the world can also be a source of stress and anxiety. When we meet, we’ll dive into all these stressors and establish a plan for self-care that will assist you in letting go of negative thoughts and feelings and move towards a space of more optimism.
In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. I like to get a clear idea of what you’re struggling with so I can figure out how to best serve you. Talking about certain personal issues can be hard, but I try to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Clients tell me they really enjoyed the initial assessment, felt heard and understood when talking about their trauma, benefited from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions and appreciated how I validated their feelings. In other words, I exceed at Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-informed CBT, and Compassionate Inquiry. Sometimes I also provide resources for self-exploration, such as Sound Baths, psychoeducation (how to understand mental health symptoms), and recommended reading.
I’ve worked in the field of social work and have come across many different cultures and age groups. For example, I've had LGBTQ+ clients, clients from 10 countries, clients aged 7-103, from security guards to HR Managers. Along the way, I've learned how to communicate across barriers and appreciate the multiplicity of human experience. My empathic approach guides clients to look deeper into themselves while also figuring out positive and productive ways to handle certain interpersonal situations. Everyone needs someone to listen to their stories and hear their true feelings. My goal is for you to walk away from our time together with a new perspective and game-plan for future encounters, while feeling supported in making new decisions and changes in your life.
I have 8 years of clinical experience working with clients who are dealing with generational trauma and/or struggling with depression and anxiety. Many of them are also experiencing domestic violence, have substance abuse issues, gone through the foster care system, or are dealing with chronic health conditions. One thing they all have in common is a desire to develop a self care plan in order to manage their emotions and thoughts. The goal is to become more comfortable and confident in their own skin. We also discuss tools for detaching from dysfunctional behavior and learn new interventions to use in social situations. Some interventions might include incorporating a fitness routine, meditation and mindfulness. In terms of treatment plans, in the first session each client establishes 3 goals they want to accomplish. These goals are then assessed as we continue working together, and used a guideline for treatment progress. If clients' situations change or they discover new goals during our work together, we can modify as needed.
I offer trauma-informed therapy that prioritizes emotional safety, empowerment, and healing for young adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and women in high-pressure roles navigating the lasting effects of childhood trauma, PTSD, abuse, and chronic stress. My approach integrates evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic techniques to support nervous system regulation, build resilience, and restore a sense of control. I provide culturally responsive, affirming care that addresses the impact of systemic trauma, identity-based stress, and internalized pressure to “hold it all together.” Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, dissociation, triggers, or emotional numbness, I offer a supportive virtual space to process trauma safely and at your own pace.
I specialize in attachment-based therapy for emerging adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and women in leadership roles who want to understand how early relationships and attachment wounds shape their current experiences with trust, intimacy, and emotional regulation. Many of my clients struggle with abandonment fears, people-pleasing, or anxious and avoidant attachment styles—often rooted in experiences with emotionally unavailable caregivers or past relational trauma. Through a warm, empathic approach, I help clients develop secure attachment, set healthy boundaries, and form deeper, more authentic connections. I offer a safe, virtual space to explore vulnerability, increase self-trust, and strengthen relationship patterns that support personal and professional growth.
I offer psychodynamic therapy for clients who want to explore the deeper roots of their emotions, relationship patterns, and behavioral cycles. This approach helps uncover unconscious beliefs, repressed emotions, family dynamics, or attachment wounds. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of self-sabotage, low self-worth, or conflicted relationships, especially while balancing identity development, leadership, or personal growth. I provide virtual sessions that support healing from anxiety, depression, emotional numbness, and life transitions, using a warm, insight-driven style to foster lasting transformation and deeper self-awareness.
I integrate psychoeducation into therapy to help my clients better understand their mental health symptoms, emotional responses, and coping patterns. I believe education empowers clients to make informed decisions, while also having a comprehensive understanding of diverse influences that can affect one's mental health. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD, I provide clear, relatable information that empowers you to feel more in control of your healing. Using evidence-based tools, practical strategies, and a collaborative approach, I support growth in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and sustainable behavior change. Whether you’re new to therapy or seeking to deepen your insight, I offer virtual sessions that prioritize mental health education, personal clarity, and long-term resilience.
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support my clients who feel stuck in patterns of self-doubt, burnout, or ambivalence about change. Whether you’re navigating habit change, substance use, relationship dynamics, or a major life transition, MI helps you reconnect with your personal values, build self-confidence, and create a momentum toward acheiving meaningful goals. This collaborative, non-judgmental approach enhances internal motivation while offering space to reflect and grow. I offer virtual therapy sessions that blend compassionate listening with structured, goal-oriented support to foster sustainable change.
