I am a licensed social worker with a PhD from the University of Southern California and a master's in social work and public health from Columbia University. I specialize in working with clients on behavioral and addiction issues, particularly related to identity and self-expression. Through collaborative, goal-oriented therapy and evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, I am dedicated to helping clients enhance their well-being and develop tailored strategies that meet their unique social and emotional needs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will take the time to get to know each other and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. We'll explore your current challenges, goals, and any relevant personal history. Together, we will assess your strengths and identify areas where you wish to grow or make changes. This initial meeting is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the process and for us to establish a collaborative plan tailored to your needs. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable and heard.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in my collaborative and compassionate approach, which centers on building a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship. I am experienced in using evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, which are effective in driving meaningful and lasting change. I tailor interventions to each individual’s unique social and emotional needs, helping clients leverage their strengths to overcome challenges. As a result, many clients experience increased self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth through our work together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are diverse individuals seeking to improve their mental health, address behavioral or addiction challenges, and explore issues related to identity and self-expression. They are open to collaborative, goal-oriented therapy and are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives. Whether they are working through relationship dynamics, personal growth, or social and emotional challenges, I am well-positioned to support those who value a respectful, evidence-based approach to healing and self-discovery.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is an approach I use to focus on my clients’ existing strengths and resources. In my practice, I emphasize uncovering and building upon what clients are already doing well, which fosters resilience and confidence. I work collaboratively with clients to identify their talents, skills, and positive qualities, helping them to leverage these strengths to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. This approach promotes a positive outlook and empowers clients to recognize their inherent potential for growth.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, evidence-based approach that I use to help clients explore and resolve their ambivalence about change. In my practice, I focus on building a trusting and collaborative relationship, guiding clients to articulate their own motivations for change, and strengthening their commitment to personal goals. I utilize reflective listening, open-ended questions, and affirmations to facilitate intrinsic motivation and empower clients to take positive steps forward.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used evidence-based approach that I use to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. In my practice, I work with clients to recognize negative thinking, develop healthier coping skills, and implement practical strategies to improve their mental well-being. I often incorporate collaborative goal-setting, practical exercises, and homework assignments to reinforce positive changes.
