Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will focus on building a foundation of trust and understanding. We will begin by discussing what brought you to therapy and exploring your current challenges as well as the unfinished business or past experiences that may be influencing your present. This is a collaborative space where I will listen to your story with empathy and clinical insight helping you feel seen and heard from day one. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting with a sense of clarity and hope. We will start to identify the specific thought patterns you’d like to challenge and the behaviors you’re ready to unlearn or modify. You can expect a professional yet down-to-earth environment where we’ll begin outlining a personalized toolkit of strategies ensuring you have a clear roadmap for the work we will do together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength lies in my ability to bridge the gap between deep clinical insight and practical, real-world application. As a doctoral-level clinician and professor, I don’t just offer support; I provide a high-level toolkit for identifying the "why" behind your behavior and resolving the unfinished business that keeps you stuck. I am particularly skilled at helping you develop the self-awareness needed to consciously decide whether to continue, unlearn, or modify patterns that no longer serve your goals. I stand out through a trauma-informed, collaborative approach that focuses on cognitive restructuring and assertive communication. My methods go beyond conversation to include active reframing of irrational thoughts and the establishment of healthy boundaries. Clients describe my style as approachable and a unique blend of expert guidance and authenticity ensuring you leave each session with both a deeper understanding of yourself and the literal language to advocate for your mental wellness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals who feel stuck in repetitive cycles and are ready to move beyond just managing symptoms to truly understanding the why behind their actions. My ideal clients are often navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, trauma or substance use, and they are looking for a clinician who balances high-level expertise with a collaborative, down-to-earth approach. I thrive when working with clients who have the following mindset and goals: The Truth-Seeker: You are ready to identify unfinished business and explore the root causes of your current behaviors. The Goal-Oriented Learner: You want a toolkit of practical strategies to cognitively challenge irrational thoughts and reframe your narrative. The Growth-Minded Individual: You are seeking the self-awareness necessary to decide whether to continue, unlearn, or modify specific behaviors to align with your values. The Boundary-Builder: You are focused on mastering effective communication and setting healthy boundaries to protect your mental wellness. Whether you are a professional navigating high-stress environments or someone working through the nuances of recovery, I provide a safe space designed to help you regain control and build a life of purposefulness.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a collaborative tool for deep personal insight and behavioral change. I help you identify and cognitively challenge the specific thought patterns that drive negative behaviors and self-limiting consequences. By learning to reframe these thoughts, you gain the power to shift your emotional response and daily actions. Beyond simple symptom management, I use CBT to foster a higher level of self-awareness. We explore the root causes of your beliefs, providing you with the clarity needed to make conscious choices: whether to continue a behavior, unlearn an old pattern, or modify it to better serve your goals. My approach ensures you aren't just reacting to life, but intentionally deciding how you want to show up in it.
