I am a therapist who works with adolescents, teens, and adults across all stages of life. I believe that every individual has a unique story, which is why I take an eclectic approach to therapy—drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet each client's specific needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. My practice is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their challenges and strengths. I work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, attachment issues, codependency, emotional regulation challenges, trauma recovery and personal growth goals. Together, we collaborate to develop insight, build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change that aligns with each client's values and goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I will take time to learn about you, your experiences, and the concerns that brought you to therapy. I may ask questions to gain a deeper understanding and offer alternative perspectives when helpful. Together, we will identify your goals for therapy and develop a collaborative plan that supports your growth and well-being in future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With more than 30 years of experience as a school counselor and over five years in private practice, I bring extensive knowledge and a well-rounded perspective to my work with clients. Throughout my career, I have supported adolescents, teens, and their families, while also working with adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of life challenges and transitions. My professional training includes trauma-informed care, trauma treatment, somatic approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, Brainspotting, and other evidence-based modalities. This diverse background allows me to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs, drawing from multiple approaches rather than relying on a single method. My experience in education provides valuable insight into school-related concerns and the developmental challenges faced by children and adolescents. I also strongly believe in the mind-body connection and incorporate this perspective into my therapeutic work whenever appropriate, helping clients understand how emotional, physical, and relational experiences influence overall well-being. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I often encourage clients to engage in reflective exercises or practical "homework" between sessions when they are interested in continuing their growth and self-exploration outside of the therapy setting. My goal is to provide a supportive, authentic, and empowering environment where clients can gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Any individual who has decided to seek therapy is at least somewhat open to growth and the sometimes messy process of achieving that growth. Through an authentic and unconditionally accepting arena, the more safe a client can feel to share their deepest concerns and fears, the more I better know how to assist with their healing journey. I embrace honesty from clients, even if when they may disagree with an idea or thought that I pose. Willingness to self-reflect, demonstrate a positive growth mindset and step out of their comfort zone in the spirit of making positive change is invaluable in achieving the most impactful self awareness, behavior change and overall growth.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

We live in a world in which the awareness of trauma has grown exponentially. There are traumas of all sizes, shapes and magnitudes, which affect each of us differently as individuals. I believe having a foundation of knowledge in trauma-informed practices provides a necessary framework for most, if not all, types of therapy. In my 30+ years of working with clients and students, I have seen the underlying commonality come from trauma-based experiences and each individual's interpretation of those experiences.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

All humans function daily in thoughts, feeling and actions, which drive our thought and behavior patterns. Understanding how one's thoughts, feelings and actions intertwine and how one can affect the others is crucial to making healthy changes in both interpersonal interactions and intrapersonal awareness.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is very useful to help "automate" new behaviors, often to help with extinguishing unproductive or unhealthy behaviors.

Eclectic

I utilize a number of different modalities, based on what the client may need. Within the trauma-informed world, there is benefit to incorporating many other modalities to foster healthy change in the mind-body connection. I've completed several trainings through the Trauma Research Foundation which demonstrate ways to incorporate other modalities. Incorporating other modalites provide clients with additional tools to help find balance in their nervous systems which fosters growth in brain-body based knowledge and practices.

Brainspotting

I believe this can open up some areas of exploration for a client. If talk therapy has been cyclical, brainspotting provides a shift that can unlock some mind-body connections.
